A Note on the Blog roll....

When I first started Welcome to my Tweendom, I had in mind a very specialized blog where tween or cross-over titles were highlighted. This specialization has extended to my blog roll. Herein lies the rub. There are very few specialized blogs targeting the age-range of the Tween. Sure, there are thousands of book blogs out there, but I always thought that placing a YA book blog, or a picture book blog on the roll may steer readers in a different direction than they want to go.

So. My blog roll remains very small.

I am wondering, however, if I should add some of the best blogs that I know are out there to the list by categorizing them as "Children's", "Tween", "Teen" and "Adult".

I would really appreciate any insight that you may have.

Cheers!

I'll check who I follow, but I don't read many book review only type blogs other than yours that focus on a single market. As a tween writer, I'm so glad I found yours!

I'd stay true to your original idea and just link to tween reader's advisory blogs. It gives you a special focus. If people want other stuff, they can find it easily enough.

My blog focuses on middle grade fiction, and I'm planning to construct a blogroll of sorts, so I'm wondering the same thing. For me, what I'm thinking is that I'll include blogs that have substantial content for the age group, rather than limiting it to those that deal with it exclusively. Categorizing would be a good idea, but it would be challenging since there are so many blogs that deal with a variety of age levels. I don't know. Yours will definitely be on my list, though!

In answer to your question, I just gave your site a Butterfly Award specifically because I like your niche so much! I made up my own subcategories--yours won Best Targeted Blog.

Angela, Mrs. Robinson, Amy and Kate:
Thanks so much for the replies and the advise (and the Butterfly!). I had in my gut the feeling that I shouldn't add endlessly to the blogroll, but tween focus is few and far between. I will be looking for those who blog lots of crossover. Let me know if you find any good ones! Thanks again!

I lover your niche and would try to stay true to this. I am thrilled and appreciative that you are focusing on teens.

I think it would be appropriate to cover YA that might be "marketed" as YA but a really bright, reading addict tween would enjoy.
